Atomic Habits by James Clear
This was really the first self-improvement book that I ever read. It focuses on making minute changes to various tasks within your daily life to create lasting improvement. The book helps you understand where to focus your efforts, and it reinforces these lessons with examples from the real world.
I would rate the book a 7/10. It was enlightening and expanded my knowledge of changing my habits, but the information is accessible online if you are willing to search for it.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson
While a drastic change in style from Atomic Habits, this book also primarily focused on understanding what you can control about your life and how it impacts you. The biggest takeaway from this book is any decision should be gauged through the lens of “Is it worth spending my time on?” It emphasizes the benefits of being willing to fail at a project.
I think this book has a unique take on describing a worldview, and it is an interesting read. 8/10
